Staff

Without questions the success of the Adventure Day Camp program starts with hiring a responsible, creative, friendly, diverse, and hard working staff. Each group will have at least 1 Head Counselor who is 18 years or older and has had extensive experience working with children.  We search for individuals who will not only take great care of your children but will also offer aspects of their own personality that will enhance the overall camp experience.  We expect our staff to remember what is was like to be a kid and appreciate that all of our campers have unique personalities, interest, and behaviors.  Our small groups sizes allow our counselors to truly get to know each camper in their group over the course of a 3 week session. All staff are required to complete our extensive 5 day training program which includes First Aid & C.P.R certification.

Director

Kevin Welch, Adventure Day Camp's director for the past 7 years

I take great pride and enjoyment out of running a quality, safe, and enriching summer camp program.  Our goal each and every year is to offer a program where campers can experience new and exciting activities, meet quality friends, learn from amazing adults, and feel completely at ease to just be themselves. I spent almost all of my summers as a child and young adult at a amazing sleep away camp in Maine, and truly believe the camp experience can offer invaluable learning opportunities for kids.

Lead Staff

Along side our counselors is a group of 5 to 7 Lead Staff members who provide support to our counselors and specialist as well as help with the day to day operations of the camp.  Most of our Lead Staff have been involved with Adventure Day Camp for a number of years and bring valuable experience, skills, and knowledge to the camp program.  A Lead Staff member is always on hand to welcome you and your child to camp and available to answer any questions you may have throughout the session.

Specialist Instructors

In addition to our counselors, we also hire a group of Specialist who teach activities that demand more instruction and supervision.  These activities include Horseback Riding, Tennis, Archery, Boating, Swimming, Mountain Biking, and our High Ropes Course Adventure.
