Horseback Riding

K - 2nd Grade:
During the first two weeks of each session campers will experience miniature horses at Blue Oaks Farm in Clayton where they learn to ride horse carriages as well as the basics of grooming, tack, and riding. Because of the size and gentle nature of these horses, we feel this is a great introduction to horseback riding.
During a 3 week session, campers can choose to further persue riding at Castle Rock Arabians where they will participate in small groups lessons within the ring and always on a lead. Helmets are worn and campers should where pants and close-toes shoes.
3rd Grade and above:
During the first two weeks of each session campers will experience a group lesson at Castle Rock Arabians with our trained riding staff. Each camper will be instructed in grooming, horse safety, reining and basic riding skills. Helmets are worn and campers should where pants and close-toes shoes.
During our 3 week session, campers can choose this activity as part of our Choice Week (week 3)option at least twice. Our more experience riders will be offered a more advanced riding program.
