Adventure Day Camp has been owned and operated by the Welch family since 2000. Kevin and Sunshine Welch are actively involved in all aspects of the camp program, and combined, have over 35 years of summer camp experience. Sunshine earned a B.S. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico, and holds a state certificate in Recreational Therapy. She has worked extensively with both adults and children with special needs that include developmental, physical , and mental disa

Hi I'm Shaina! This is my seventh summer at Adventure Day Camp and I am so excited to be back. I graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelors in Science and just finished a Teacher Education program at Mills College. I will be teaching third grade in the fall at a charter school in Oakland, but am looking forward to another fun summer at camp!

Hi I'm Rachel! In the past year I have graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science in Business and received my Masters in Education along with my Teaching Credential. This is my 13th year at camp and I can't wait for another great summer!

Jess Eastland Program Director

Hi I’m Jess. I have just finished my sophomore year at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I am getting my Bachelors in Psychology and a Primary Education Teaching Credential. This will be my 8th year at Adventure Day Camp. The past two years I have specifically been with Pre-K/Kindergarten girls but this summer I am excited to be involved with every aspect of camp, especially with the Pre-K through 2nd groups. I can’t wait to meet you all and have an amazing summer!

Hi I'm Adrian! I'm going to be a junior at the University of Oregon, majoring in Environmental Studies. This will be my 14th year at ADC and I'm really excited for another awesome summer!

Hi campers!! My name is Tony and I am a Business major at Cal Poly SLO. I have been at Adventure Day Camp for 14 or 15 years!! I can’t remember the exact number; I just know it’s a lot. I am full of ADC knowledge and you can me anything. I will be working with at Dorris Eaton site as a Program Director. I look forward to meeting you!!

Amelia Eastland Program Director

Hi all! My name is Amelia and I just finished my fourth year at UC Berkeley -- Go Bears! Originally from LA, when I'm not at camp, I love surfing, long boarding, art, and sunshine! This is my first year at ADC and I'm so stoked to meet everyone!

Hello my name is Meredith and this is my 14th year at Adventure Day Camp! I’m a junior at Gonzaga University and love being outdoors. My favorite part about camp is being on my feet, having a geranium with the kids, and having fun with all of our col activities. I especially enjoy the reservoir because of my love of the water and kayaking. I can't wait to meet all of you and have a fantastic summer!

Hi, I'm Gabi! I just finished my second year at Yale where I study English language and literature. After graduating, I hope to use my foreign language skills to teach English abroad. In my free time I enjoy reading, trying out DIY crafts and exploring the outdoors with friends. This is my first summer with ADC and I am so excited to share some amazing adventures with you all!

Hello my name is Ellie! I'm 18 and from England! I am taking a gap year before starting university in September! I like to flip, travel, and be in/on water. I compete trampoline gymnastics but love all sports including sailing and surfing! I am looking forward to my first summer at camp and to having an amazing time!

Hello! My name is Jack and I go to Monte Vista High School. In my free time I like to play sports with my friends and swim in lakes. I'm super excited for this summer at camp and look forward to making everyday as fun as possible.

My name is Sarah and this is my second year at ADC. I am going into my junior year at the University of Hawaii Manoa majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish. On the weekends I love to go to the beach, hike, and hang out with my friends. I am very excited to see returning and new campers and staff! I cannot wait to see what this summer has in store for ADC!

Hi! My name is Rosie and I am going into my senior year of college at Arizona State University. I'm studying nonprofit management and leadership, while also getting my secondary education credential in English! I love traveling, being outdoors, and watching sports. I'm excited for a fun and active summer at camp this year!

Kasper

My name is Kasper and I'm one of the international staff this year at Adventure Day Camp coming from a small country town called Gunnedah, Australia. Things I'm interested and enjoy doing back at home is getting out and travelling around the place riding my mountain bike. I'm also a qualified mountain bike instructor and I also enjoy a wide range of watersports, which I hope to bring to what's going to be an awesome summer camp season. We'll see you there campers!!!

My name is Hanna Coloma and have been attending adc for 10 years. When I am older I hope to be a pediatric physical therapist, my love for kids started with this camp! I play volleyball for my high school and run track at a highly competitive level. I can't wait to make this summer memorable! One love adc

Hello! My name is Gillian Maraccini and I am now a senior at Northgate high school. I am a competitive cheerleader for The California Allstars and am a 2x National Champion and a 2017 World champion! I am taking the summer off from cheer and excited to finally be an official staff at ADC :) I look forward to a fun summer and getting to know as many campers as I can.

I recently graduated from Northgate high school and will be attending Cal Poly slo in the fall; majoring in child development. I am so excited to be back at camp this summer and cannot wait to meet everyone!

My name is Tim and this is my first and hopefully wonderful year at Adventure Day Camp. I'm one of the few international staff this year coming from Australia! I'm especially looking forward to the camp outs at ADC, hope to see you there!

Hey! My names Gabrielle but I prefer to go by Gabi. I'm 20 years old and I'm an international from Liverpool, England. I work as a lifeguard and fitness instructor and have high hopes to complete my personal trainer course once camp is over. I've also been playing soccer for over 13 years!
This is my first summer working as a camp counselor and I'm super excited!

Hi I'm Rose, and I've been going to Adventure Day Camp since I was 7! I graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 2016 and have just finished my first year at Johns Hopkins University. I enjoy doing anything outdoors, especially if it involves a good view. As a California girl, I love swimming, going to the beach, and backpacking along the coast. At camp, I usually work with our youngest campers and I'm always down for a game of Sponge-Sponge-Squeeze. Can't wait to meet you this summer!

Hi everyone! My name is Katya Mizin and I'm returning as a counselor for the second year at ADC, and I couldn't be more excited for this summer! I just graduated from the Bentley School and I'll be studying Environmental Science at UCLA in the fall. I love doing arts and crafts and hope to go on a lot of nature walks at camp this year. Hi! My name is Lizzie and I'm so excited to return to camp, but this time as staff! This fall, I'm heading off to my first year at George Washington University, where I plan on studying Political Science. When I'm not a camp, I love hanging out with friends, hiking, and playing drama games. Can't wait to see all of you! One love ADC!

I love reading, dance and drama, and I'm willing to give everything a go. I'm super excited to meet you all and experience all this summer has to offer :)

Hello! My name is Kate and I just graduated with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. I'm currently pursuing a Masters of Education in order to teach middle school and high school math. I've taught preschool through 8th grade for 9 years. I love to go on runs and hikes, I'm a bird nerd, and I'm always down for a game of President. I was a bus driver and group leader at ADC last summer and look forward to doing it again this year.

Hi! My name is Zoë Benjamin and this will be my fourth summer at ADC. I'm going into my junior year at International High School in San Francisco. When I'm not at camp I'm most likely playing lacrosse, soccer, volunteering, traveling or hanging out with my friends. I can't wait to meet you all this summer!

Hey campers! My name is Molly and I am excited to be one of your staff at Adventure Day Camp! I can’t wait to go rock climbing, play fun games, bike, sail and dance! I go to a small college in Montana called Carroll College where I study Anthrozoology, which is the study of the human-animal bond. I'm also on the Carroll cheer team and local ski patrol. Hi everyone, I'm Addison! I graduated from Northgate High School and currently attend the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I will be a second year in the fall. I am currently double majoring in environmental studies and politics. I hope to attend law school after I graduate and focus on environmental law and policy. When I'm not at camp I love playing sports, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, babysitting, and hanging out with friends!
