Summer Memories Last Forever
Campers have TWO options for LUNCH:
-
You may purchase daily lunches from SchoolFoodies. Please download their flier for complete information: SchoolFoodies Lunch Program (PDF).
-
For those days when your child is not enrolled in the lunch program, please send your child with a bagged or cooler-packed lunch.
A few points about lunch…
-
We do not have the ability to microwave or refrigerate lunch items.
-
We recommend sending lunch in a cooler pack that fits in your child’s backpack.
-
In an effort to avoid bee problems and to promote the importance of a healthy and nutritious diet, we ask that you limit the sugar items sent in your child’s lunch.
-
If your child is a picky eater and needs encouragement to finish his or her lunch, please indicate so on your application.
Snack
Adventure Day Camp does not provide snack, so please send a snack with your child. If you are enrolling in our Lunch Program with SchoolFoodies, we recommend either adding additional items for snack, or sending a light snack for your child to eat either before lunch or in the mid afternoon. The portions from SchoolFoodies are generous but our active campers burn off a lot of calories and may need additional food to maintain their energy levels. Each group will have a morning and/or afternoon time period designated for a snack. Counselors will monitor their campers to make sure they are eating their snack each day. Occasionally, Adventure Day Camp will provide fruit, popsicles, or a small amount of candy. Please be sure to indicate on your child’s application any food restrictions we should be aware of.
Nuts!
Because we have several campers with severe allergies to nuts, we ask that you refrain from sending foods containing nuts, especially peanuts, whenever possible. All items offered to campers from Adventure Day Camp, including food served during our Overnight Campout, will be nut free. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
PLEASE BE SURE TO NOTIFY ADVENTURE DAY CAMP IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY TYPE OF ALLERGY. THIS INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN TO THE CHILD’S COUNSELOR AND MONITORED BY OUR HEALTH CARE CO-ORDINATOR AND CAMP DIRECTORS.
